Welcome to BlueZ Health — Our First Newsletter
Real science. Root-cause thinking. Always learning.
A Note from Christy
Welcome to the very first BlueZ Health newsletter. My goal with each issue is simple: share what I am learning, what the research is saying, and what I am personally trying, keeping, or setting aside. I hope this becomes a resource you look forward to — honest, practical, and always rooted in real science.
New Research
Glucosamine & Memory: What You Should Know
A new research article out from SCI NEWS caught my attention. Those with memory issues or early dementia may want to steer clear of glucosamine supplements for the joints.
Only mice studies have been done so far, but as you know, findings in animal models often carry over to humans. Glucosamine does not cause memory issues or dementia — but it may speed up decline in those who are already experiencing memory issues or have a diagnosis.
This is exactly why I read and share: real science is always learning.
From My Own Practice
What I Have Kept, What I Have Let Go
I have tried many things over the years. Some I keep, some I do not. Here is an honest look at a few.
C60 → Molecular Hydrogen
C60 is great — I have nothing against it. I simply found something better that costs less. I switched from C60 to Molecular Hydrogen for free radical reduction and increased antioxidant support. Same goal, better value.
Fatty 15
Fatty 15 sounded promising. It is supposed to be found in ocean plants that dolphins eat, contributing to their longevity and few health conditions. For humans, we can get some fatty 15 from grass-fed dairy fat — about 1–3% of the fat in whole milk, butter, and cheese. I used it for six months and saw no results or benefit whatsoever. I went back to Omega-3. Cod liver oil is the best of the Omega-3s. Chia seeds and high-lignan flax oil are also heavy hitters.
Milk Thistle & Calcium D-Glucarate
Some things have been around a long time and are simply great staples. Milk thistle for the liver. Calcium D-glucarate for helping pull out toxic xenoestrogens. These stay.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
HBOT has been medically proven to benefit the mitochondria, brain cells, nervous system, and immune system — and to reduce inflammation. It is one of the most phenomenal therapies available. Many miss out because of time and money, but I am living proof of its benefits, and so are many of you.
Solaris, Oceans Alive, BPC-157 & Retinol A
Some newer ones I still like: Solaris and Oceans Alive — though they have gone way up in price. BPC-157 and Retinol A are also on my current list.
Always Keep Learning
Always research. Always be willing to learn and tweak as needed — as you age, as you clear up one issue, or as you need to work on another. I will always try to share new information as it comes. Until next time.
